Who I am
This website, jeremyngayed.com (the “Site”), belongs to Jeremy N. Gayed. When this policy says “I” or “me,” it means Jeremy. If you have a question about this policy, please reach out to me using the contact form at https://jeremyngayed.com/contact/.
While using the Site, you may be asked to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name and email address (“Personal Information”).
What I collect and why
When you just visit
You can read this site without giving me your name or email address. Even so, like many websites, the Site collects information that your browser sends whenever you visit (“Log Data”). Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of the Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics. Log Data is used to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the Site, and to monitor and improve security.
In addition, I may use third-party services such as Google Analytics, Cloudflare, Jetpack, MonsterInsights, and others, that collect, monitor and analyze collected data for the purpose of improving the Site and its navigation.
For California residents: this Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals. Third-party services, including those active on the Site, may collect information about your activity over time and across websites.
Newsletter and Direct Communications
You are not required to sign up for my newsletter, or to provide Personal Information, to visit the Site.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, I collect Personal Information in the form of your name and email address. I use this information to send you my newsletter and news about my books. The newsletter is powered by the service “Kit,” which will store the Personal Information you provide for the purpose of providing the newsletter service.
Every email has an “unsubscribe” link, which you can use if you no longer wish to receive newsletter communications from me. If you wish to correct your Personal Information, change the email address at which you receive communications, or make any other inquiry, you may reach me using the contact form.
If you send me a message through the contact form, I collect Personal Information in the form of your name, your email address, your message, and anything else you type into the form. The form also sends me the title and address of the page you used it on and the page you came from. I use this only to read and respond to your message. The form is run by the WPForms plugin. The form plugin also records information about how the form is used (for example, whether it was viewed and for how long).
Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. The Site may set cookies when you browse. Cookies and browser storage may also be placed by Google Analytics, Kit, Cloudflare, and other third-party resources that service or provide various functionalities to the Site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Sale of Personal Information
I do not sell your Personal Information, and I do not share it except as provided in this policy: with third-party providers for the purpose of servicing the Site, its security, or its functionalities, or as required by law.
Third-Party Links
Various third parties, including those identified above, handle information on my behalf so the Site and newsletter function. Each has its own privacy policy.
The Site also contains third-party links to other websites such as Amazon, the Oasis Family Media store, my publisher Enclave Publishing, and my profiles on X and Instagram, and other third-party links. When you follow a link, the other site’s privacy policy applies. Some links may include a tracking code to enable third parties like my publisher Enclave to earn a commission if you make a purchase using the link.
I provide third-party links as a convenience to you. I have no control over the content of third-party sites, and I do not by providing links endorse any third-party content. I am not responsible for the security, privacy, or terms of your visit to third-party sites.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect Personal Information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given me Personal Information, contact me using the contact form and I will delete it.
Security
The security of your Personal Information is important to me, but no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. I strive to use reasonable means to protect your information, but I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If I change how the site collects or uses information, I will update this page and its effective date.
